The horizon afar fades away

Whilst the sky remains unchanged

Frozen statues surround me

Surrounding all round me as I drown into the deep.

I wanna be okay, but I’m afraid

To be sure of what awaits on the surface

Holding my breath as long as I could

As I can’t fathom the light from above, I chose to be a diver.

Throughout all my years of endurance

Ensuring that I was alright, not being honest to myself

Letting childhood fantasies succumb my thoughts

Of strength I once measured that could be mine.

Afraid of all my failures, I became a lost swan

Under the starry skies floating lonesomely

Yet such shine and shimmer, allowed my wings to open

Leaving all regrets behind, ahead for the unknown.

Unravelling the past of my mind

Such young thoughts of passion flooded

Having flown to extreme ends, yet the story was just beginning

Allowing me to embrace through it all.

Anchoring me into deep unknown waters

Allowed myself to be a survivor

Unsure of all that would come tomorrow; even if it brings the end

I’ll hold on, so that I never drown again.
